According to news reports, Huawei is now working on an ‘aggressively-priced foldable device’, which it plans to launch sometime later this year.
In fact, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, has claimed that the smartphone company is working on in-folding foldable device, much like the Galaxy Fold. This will be a change from the company’s earlier foldable devices that folded outwards, like the Huawei Mate X and Huawei Mate Xs.

In an interview to a leading channel on YouTube, Mr Young has revealed that Huawei is looking to bring both clamshell and in-folding designs, and may launch these devices in September or October of 2020.
In the same interview, Mr Young said that a lot of companies could be looking at Samsung for design inspiration, and that is why he expects Huawei to also pursue both the clamshell and in-folding models. He also added that Huawei has ordered more than 500,000 display units already.
If rumours are to be believed, Huawei could launch this new in-folding smartphone alongside its next-gen Mate series. As of now, this is all the information we have, but we hope for more details from the brand in the coming weeks.
