Just last year, we witnessed a bunch of smartphones coming out from the Motorola stable, with most of them falling in the budget or mid-range segment of smartphones. The only premium device to come out of Motorola was the Foldable Motorola Razr, and this was the first time in some years that Motorola didn’t launch a flagship under its ‘Z’ series. Moreover, after the launch of Moto Z4 last year, Motorola confirmed that no more ‘Z’ series phones would launch in 2019.
However, this year, Motorola is going to launch a flagship as the company revealed it at the Qualcomm’s Tech Summit last year. Motorola announced that the company would launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 865 SOC.
Now, we might just have the first piece of news about this upcoming flagship device. In fact, Evan Blass, who is one of the most trusted sources for all tech leaks, has revealed on his Twitter profile that Motorola Edge+ is in the works and will definitely launch this year.
While there are no confirmations on the design or the specifications yet, the name does imply that there is a display with curved edges, much similar to Samsung’s premium flagships. With a + sign in the name itself, it could be possible that the upcoming device will have a ‘Waterfall display’. However, nothing can be said with surety at the moment. But we can be definitely sure of the fact that Motorola is coming up with a new device this year.
