POCO is Now an Independent Brand

Ever since its release nearly two years ago, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 rose to the ranks of becoming one of the most popular phones. This was especially true for those who wanted flagship-grade hardware at a mid-range price tag. And that’s why many people were left wondering why Xiaomi was so hesitant in releasing a successor to the Pocophone F1, especially considering the phenomenal craze with just one phone release.

In a new and happening development, Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar Jain confirmed through a tweet that the POCO brand is now independent of Xiaomi and will operate on its own from now on.

Very recently, the internet was awash with a trademark application for the Pocophone F2 which again sparked the interest of fans. Before that, Pocophone global head Alvin Tse teased there’s more to come from the brand’s pipeline in 2020 which is likely a successor to the F1. Now that the brand is interdependent, the POCO F2 should finally make its long-awaited debut.

Poco F1 was a sub-brand under popular company Xiaomi. With a very successful Mi and Redmi series, this device also made a reputed place in the industry. The POCO F1 comes with a 6.1-inch IPS LCD with a screen resolution of 1080*2246 and a pixel density of 403ppi. It gives great experience while watching videos, playing games and other activities. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla glass as well which keeps it safe from scratches.


In terms of functioning, the device is powered by an Octa-core processor segregated as 2.8 GHz quad-core + Kyro 385 +1.8 GHz Quad-core provided upon the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Chipset. Enriched with Adreno 630, the device offers optimum graphics quality and the massive 6GB Ram handles all the multitasking of the device providing it a smooth flow at all times. The Poco F1 also comes with a combination of 12MP + 5MP rear camera that features Exmor-RS, Dual Pixel autofocus and physical aperture of F1.9.

For the front camera, the device is enriched with a 20MP lens which clicks great quality selfies. In terms of storage, the device comes with an inbuilt storage of 64GB and an additional slot of 256GB for further increase. To handle all these functions, the device has a Li-Polymer battery with a massive capacity of 4,000 mAh that offers hours of standby on a single charge. All of these features are available to the customers at an affordable price starting Rs. 17,790.
