Redmi 9 With MediaTek Helio G70 Is Coming Soon
Redmi is clearly on a launching spree this festive season. While the Redmi 8 got official in October, the company is apparently already planning to launch the Redmi 9 as early as next year.
According to an unconfirmed report, the Redmi 9 will be unveiled early next year, and it will be powered by the yet-unannounced MediaTek Helio G70 chipset. While we do not have much details on this, but given the naming/numbering scheme, it could be slotted below the G90 in terms of performance, and aimed at more affordable offerings.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro uses the G90T, while the Redmi 8 ships with a Snapdragon 439. It remains to be seen how the Redmi 9 will fare in terms of performance as compared to its predecessors. But it is possible that it will be one notch ahead of its predecessor.
The Redmi 9 is also said to sport a 6.6-inch notch display, which is up from the Redmi 8’s 6.22″ panel. The entry-level model will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, up from 3/32GB in its predecessor. It is also possible that there will be more, higher options.
It also shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if the Redmi 9 launches with MIUI 11 on board, based on Android 10, along with some slight camera improvements in it. However, these spec details haven’t been outed yet.
