The Redmi K30 Ultra could be a new device in the Xiaomi portfolio, and might sit right alongside the existing Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Pro.
The mention of this new Ultra device was spotted within a MIUI 12 build along with a code name “cezanne”. However, Xiaomi is yet to make any official announcement about this new smartphone, so don’t hold your breath just yet. Moreover, some reports have also suggested Xiaomi’s plans of bringing the Redmi K40 as the successor to the Redmi K30.
Not just this, an XDA forum member ‘kacskrz’ has also found some references about the Redmi K30 Ultra in the recent MIUI 12 build. Another code snippet within the MIUI 12 build suggesting the new Redmi phone reportedly teased a quad rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary shooter, and even a pop-up camera setup. The new model also seems to have a MediaTek SoC, which is interesting because the company has so far used Qualcomm chips on its Redmi K-series devices.
From the given information, it looks like the Redmi K30 Ultra is similar to the Redmi K30 Pro that Xiaomi launched in China in March. There are no other concrete details about the device, however, it is possible that the Redmi K40 that could be associated with the rumoured model.
