While BIS has only referred to this device as a ‘smartwatch’, with model number HMDH01GE, there are some Weibo users in China who have delved deep into the Mi Fit app and discovered the silhouette of what seems like a Redmi smart band.
The band is expected to sport a heart rate tracking feature, NFC and music controls. All of this information is the basis the ‘research’ done on the app by Weibo users. It will also reportedly have changeable watch faces and basic features like weather info and alarms. Everything that you find on a smartband basically.
And true to its vision, the upcoming Redmi wearable is expected to cost less than the comparable Xiaomi device. Now with Xiaomi, Realmeand Redmi, all working on a smart band, users can expect some great competition in the market for value-for-money fitness trackers.
