In a bid to help global IoT decision makers stay up to date on the role Bluetooth technology can play in their technical roadmaps and markets, Bluetooth Special Interest Group Inc. (SIG) has come up with a Bluetooth Market Update.

As Bluetooth Low Energy continues its rapid growth, it provides a common thread in combo chips, powering connectivity across multiple wireless technologies. It also states that simple data transfer solutions are forecasted to double from 690 million shipped annually in 2018 to 1.3 billion annual shipments in 2023.

Increasing demand for location services is also powering a surge in Bluetooth wayfinding, asset tracking, and item finding solutions.
