Vivo Y5s, That Resembles Y19, Unveiled In China
Chinese phone maker Vivo has launched a new smartphone in its home market. Dubbed as Vivo Y5s, the new smartphone resembles Vivo Y19 that was recently unwrapped in Thailand. Vivo Y5s has similar specifications like that of Vivo U3 that debuted in China last month. The SoC is the only difference between Vivo Y5s and Vivo U3. While the Vivo Y5s uses MediaTek’s Helio P65 SoC, the Vivo U3 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC.
The dual-SIM (Nano) Vivo Y5s runs on FunTouch OS 9.2, based on Android 9 Pie. The phone is packed with 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) display and is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and Mali-G52 GPU. The Vivo Y5s has a ginormous 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Around the back, the phone has a fingerprint reader with a triple camera setup (16MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro units). The specialty of the imaging front is that the ultrawide camera allows one to capture picture-perfect shots pictures with a FOV of 120 degrees, while the macro camera permits photography of objects from as close as 4cm. There is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter on the front with an f/2.0 aperture.
Other notable features include a rear fingerprint sensor, face unlock support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB 2.0, and 4G VoLTE support, and 128GB of onboard storage on the Vivo Y5s. The phone measures 162.15×76.47×8.89mm and weighs 193 grams.
In case of the price, one need not to break into a bank to get hold of Vivo Y5s. The handset is available at CNY 1,498 (approx. Rs. 15,000) for the lone 6GB + 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in three colours- Blue, Black and Green with a gradient finish, and is expected to soon go on open sale. There is no news about its launch outside China at this point, but we are expecting to witness the release of Vivo Y19 in some global markets.
