Xiaomi Announces Mi Box 4S Pro with 8K Video Decoding

Xiaomi Announces Mi Box 4S Pro

Chinese tech company Xiaomi has recently announced a successor to its Mi Box 4 Pro called Mi Box 4S Pro. While the upcoming device looks identical to the old one and the name also implies an incremental update only, the specifications tell a different story. In addition to its feature-rich list, the Mi Box 4S Pro also has 8K video decoding, the most notable addition to the device.

Not just that, the HDMI standard has also been increased up to 2.1 to accommodate the 8K video playback above 30fps. There are also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage – the latter has been doubled compared to the 4 Pro. The device ships with MIUI for TV in China, but we certainly can expect it to adopt Android TV in the global markets, if It releases. However, Xiaomi said that it doesn’t have plans to release the Box 4S Pro internationally.

The pre-orders for the Mi Box 4S Pro start on November 6, and the asking price is CNY 399 ($60), which is slightly more expensive than its predecessor, given its features and upgrades. Would you be willing to get your hands on this? Let us know in the comments below.
