Xiaomi has unveiled the latest MIUI 11 update for the Redmi Note 5. The latest MIUI update comes with a new Android security patch and changelog includes features like new minimalistic design, redesigned Settings menu, quick replies feature and more. The update is based on Android 9OS.

Xiaomi is expected to announce an Android 10 based MIUI update by 2019. It must be noted that Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9T Pro are the only Xiaomi phones to get Android 10 update to date.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi has released a stable Android 9.0 Pie update with MIUI 10.3.1 for the Redmi Note 5. To recall, the company has launched Redmi Note 5 last year. The smartphone was launched with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. This is the second big software update for the device as it has already received Android Oreo. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 also features dual SIM functionality and a single-lens 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. The selfie shooter sports 5MP with LED flash.

Measuring 158.5 x 75.45 x 8.05mm, the smartphone comes equipped with a fingerprint and infrared sensor. The smartphone draws 4,000 mAh battery power and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
