As recently as a few years ago, Samsung towered over other smartphone manufacturers as a dominant entity in every price segment. Ever since the Xiaomi’s and the OnePlus’ cornered Samsung to just flagship contention, Samsung has made some efforts, like the 2015 launch of the J Series to regain its lost territory. While the J5 and J7 achieved decent volumes, the industry response was lukewarm.
Samsung has remained persistent in their efforts and come 2019, they’ve resolved to arrive all guns blazing. With the launch of the millennial-targeted M20 and M10 in the sub-20,000 and sub-10,000 rupee categories respectively, the Korean giant has dissolved the J line-up to make room for the “premium” offerings Galaxy A series.
