Remember the time when OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were launched? Mobile enthusiasts went crazy to witness the top-of-the-line specifications and incredible camera technologies of the phones. Once again, the company is here to make our gloomy 2020 a little better by introducing two flagship phones – OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Both the phones have been launched through an online event as the whole world is under lockdown, campaigns have been stopped and businesses have shut down. Let’s get a glimpse into the features that both the phones are offering.
OnePlus 8 Specifications
The OnePlus 8 is coming with dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos sound and new Haptic Vibration Engine. This means that the smartphone is featuring the latest audio technologies that will make our sound experience better. The dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus 8 runs Android 10 with OxygenOS on top and flaunts a 6.55-inch full HD Fluid AMOLED display. With an aspect ratio of 20:9, the phone also offers 3D Gorilla glass protection which acts as a damage resistor for the screen. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with 8GB and 12GB which denotes that you will have no complaints when it comes to performances.
In the case of optics, the device offers a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary camera lens that allows you to take crisp and clear pictures. The 2 MP secondary sensor along with the 16 MP tertiary sensor is an added boon in the camera department. It doesn’t disappoint you in case of selfies either, as the front camera houses a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor.
Weighing 180 grams and measuring 160.2×72.9×8.0mm, the device draws power from a 4,300mAh battery. There are several connectivity options such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
The phone is coming in two exceptional colours – Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow – and will go on sale starting April 21 in the UK and April 29 in the US. In the case of the 8GB+128GB variant, the phone is priced at $699 (approx Rs 53, 000), and the 12GB+ 256GB variant will be available at $799 or approx. Rs 60, 800.
OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications
Similar to OnePlus 8, the device comes with Dolby Atmos technology and Haptic Vibration Engine that offers 11 percent better vibrating effects. The phone touts a 6.78-inch QHD+ (1440×3168 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and a 3D Gorilla Glass Protection. The phone also comes with a 240Hz touch sampling rate that can increase the peak brightness up to 1300 nits.
Flaunting a triple camera setup, the phone’s 48-megapixel primary Sony IMX689 sensor assures stable clicks, the 8MP secondary telephoto lens turns the dream into reality and its 48MP tertiary sensor promises ultra-wide-angle lens. The 3x hybrid support coupled with the 4k video recording at 30/ 60fps is icing on the cake. The selfie camera hones a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor at the front paired with an f/2.45 lens and 1.0-micron pixel size.
The storage options are also up to the mark. It offers 128GB and 256GB options, however, both the options cannot be expanded. Powered by 4510mAh, the phone is available at Glacial Green, Onyx Black, and Ultramarine Blue colour options. The price for OnePlus 8Pro’s 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is $899 (roughly Rs. 68,400) whereas for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model the device is priced at $999 (roughly Rs. 76,000).
Do remember that the India prices are yet to be announced, and these are just speculations, based on the dollar prices of the devices.
