Asus 6Z FOTA Update Starts Rolling Out

The latest update for the Asus 6Z, more popularly known as the Zenfone 6, has already started rolling out. The update is around 398MB in size, and carries the version 16.1210.1906.156, while also bringing in the latest June 2019 security patch. The update could not have come at a better time considering the Asus flagship has gone on sale in the Indian market.

The flagship phone was made available last week at a starting price of Rs. 31,999 for the 6GB/64GB version on e-commerce platform Flipkart. Now the Asus 6Z will be going on sale in two variants – 6GB/128GB for Rs. 34,999 and 8GB/256GB for Rs 39,999.

The latest update brings enabled ARCore to the Asus 6z. ARCore is Google’s platform for building augmented reality experiences. ARCore utilizes three key capabilities to integrate virtual content with the real world which is seen through your phone’s camera. The motion tracking now allows the phone to understand and also track its position relative to the world.

Other changes the FOTA update brings is improved video call experience and a number of changes to the camera as well. The 6Z now gets 8X zoom enabled in photo mode. The 6Z also gets improved FHD video recording with the Volume Key now optimized to start/stop video recording. Additionally, the new update also brings improved photo image quality on Noise reduction and improved camera flipping stability.
