Many smartphone companies have been expanding their product portfolios with the inclusion of smart TVs. Big names such as OnePlus, Nokia, Xiaomi, Realme and Honor have entered the smart TV market and have met with varying levels of success. And now OPPO is also set to join the fray.
During the 2020 OPPO Developer Conference, company officials have reportedly announced that the brand ecosystem will expand with a TV, which will be released in October.
While Yi Wei, General Manager at OPPO, did not reveal much about the TV, but announced it is a “key step towards expanding the company’s IoT network of devices.”

According to rumours, there will be two TV sizes – 55” and 65”, with different remote controls, suggesting different features as well, but that’s the only information we have so far.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise though that OPPO is joining the TV market, since OnePlus and Realme are also subsidiaries of BBK Electronics (the parent company of OPPO). BBK already has a lot of experience assembling TV sets.
