Samsung Launches Two New Tablets for India

If you have been on a hunt for a great tablet to use, Samsung has some good news for you! The tech magnet has announced the launch of two Samsung tab options in the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and Galaxy Tab S5e.

The Galaxy Tab S5e has some pretty impressive features, offering a mid-range Snapdragon 670 chipset, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage, and a whopping 7,040mAh battery. Apart from this, it also offers a 10.5-inch OLED screen (2,560 x 1,600), four speakers, an 8MP selfie camera, 13MP rear camera, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C, face unlock, and One UI atop Android Pie. However, if there is one solid reason you’re looking for to buy the Galaxy Tab S5e is DeX, as you can run the Samsung desktop environment when you connect a keyboard cover.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 on the other hand, is the more budget-focused version, featuring a lower mid-range Exynos 7904 chipset (two Cortex-A73 cores plus six Cortex-A53 cores), 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. This tablet also sports a 10.1-inch LCD screen (1,920 x 1,200), 5MP selfie camera, 8MP rear camera, 6,150mAh battery, USB-C, and One UI paired with Android Pie. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 also doesn’t have DeX support or a fingerprint scanner, unlike its expensive sibling.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e starts at Rs. 34,999 for the Wi-Fi variant, while the LTE model will cost you Rs. 39,999. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 Wi-Fi model is available for a much more affordable price tag of Rs. 14,999, while the LTE variant can be had for Rs. 19,999. Samsung is also offering a keyboard cover for the discounted price of Rs. 3,500, down from the original Rs. 7,999.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is available from leading retailers, but the Wi-Fi variant will launch via Amazon India, while the LTE model will launch on Flipkart. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 Wi-Fi model will only be available via Amazon India and Samsung’s online storefront from June 26. As for the LTE model, it’ll launch on July 1 via leading retailers and Amazon India. Both tablets will be available in three colours – silver, black, and gold.
